WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women’s golf team continues the spring portion of its schedule this weekend as it takes part in the LSU Tiger Classic at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La.

The 54-hole five-count-four event will take place on the par-72, 6,305-yard layout of the Jim Lipe designed course that opened in 1998 and was recently redesigned by both Lipe and former LSU All-American David Toms.

Friday’s opening round will feature three-player waves teeing off the No. 1 and No. 10 tees starting at 8:30 a.m. CST. Saturday and Sunday’s rounds are slated to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on each day.

Live stats are available for all three rounds and can be accessed by clicking on the link at the top of the page.

The Seahawks are part of a deep 15-team field that features four top 25 programs – No. 5 Arkansas, No. 16 UCF, No. 17 LSU (host) and No. 19 Kentucky – as well as six top 50 squads in Tulane (33), GRU-Augusta (38), Denver (39), Baylor (43), SMU (43) and Notre Dame (48). Louisiana-Monroe, Missouri, Purdue, TCU and UTSA join the Seahawks to round out the tournament field.

Veteran Head Coach Cindy Ho will go with the same lineup she used during the Seahawks first event of the spring as seniors Lori Beth Adams and Megan Burnham will be joined by junior Mallory Warrick and sophomores Meghan Theiss and Annette Lyche.

Adams, who leads the team with a 74.60 stroke average, has recorded four top 25 finishes in five events this season, including a tie for 21st in the Bruin Wave Invitational in early March. Burnham sits third on the team with a 81.14 stroke average and Warrick is fourth (81.40) while Lyche (81.33) and Theiss (79.66) are both making their second appearances of the season after joining the program for the spring semester.

UNCW returns to action March 28-30 when it takes part in the Bryan National Collegiate at the Bryan Park Golf Course in Greensboro, N.C.
