WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW junior defender Jacob VanCompernolle was voted to the first team while David Sizemore and Colin Bonner were second-team selections as the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association announced its all-state men’s soccer teams on Monday.

"This is a deserved recognition for Jacob, Colin and David”, said UNCW Head Coach Aidan Heaney. “They performed at a consistently high level this season and impacted many of our games. I am certain they would also share this with their teammates for contributing to their good play."

VanCompernolle helped bolster a strong UNCW defense that limited opponents to just 4.9 shots on goal per game as the Seahawks reached the semifinals of the Colonial Athletic Association championship tournament. The Seahawks finished the regular season in second place in the CAA standings following a strong finish where the club went 3-0-1 to end the regular season. In that run, UNCW blanked 11th-ranked UNC Chapel Hill and followed up with a 2-1 win over Delaware, then the top offense in the nation.

Sizemore and Bonner keyed the Seahawks offensively during that stretch run as UNCW totaled nine goals. Sizemore scored twice in a 2-all draw with 15th-ranked William & Mary and finished the season third on the team with nine points on four goals and an assist. Bonner, meanwhile, led the Seahawks for the second straight season in points and goals with 15 and six, respectively. In the regular season finale against Northeastern, Bonner recorded his first hat trick as UNCW claimed a bye in the CAA tournament with a 4-2 win.

All three were All-CAA selections with VanCompnolle representing UNCW on the first team and Sizemore and Bonner on the second squad.
