WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The Seahawks and Northeastern close out the regular season Wednesday with a 7 p.m. kickoff at the UNCW Soccer Stadium as both teams battle for seeding in the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association tournament. There are more than 25 scenarios for tournament byes and pairings that will be decided Wednesday evening.

Both sides have secured berths in the upcoming championship tournament, but will be jockeying for seeding and potential byes in the six-team championship tournament. The Huskies and Seahawks are tied with nationally-ranked William & Mary with 10 points apiece and identical 3-2-1 marks in the conference. Delaware, which has completed its regular season, leads the league with 12 points followed by Drexel with 11.

The Seahawks fashioned a 2-all draw with William & Mary on the strength of a two-goal outing from CAA Co-Player-of-the-Week David Sizemore. The red-shirt sophomore gave the Seahawks one-goal leads twice during the game. The Tribe was able to draw even in the 87th minute to force overtime. Sophomore Colin Bonner leads UNCW with nine points on three goals and three assists while Sizemore holds the lead with four goals.

The Huskies have dropped their last three games, including a pair of conference tilts to William & Mary and Col. of Charleston. NU’s offense has struggled during that three-game stretch, having failed to score in any of those games. Defense has been the Huskies strong point this season, allowing just 14 goals and posting a 0.84 goals against average. Goalkeeper Dylan Faber has made 15 starts in goal and responded with a 0.77 goals against average and .815 save average. Dante Marini leads the NU squad with 15 points on team-leading totals of five goals and five assists.

There are two other games on the CAA docket Wednesday that will have an impact on the tournament berths and seedings. Charleston hosts Drexel and James Madison visits W&M.

UNCW seniors Michael Parrish and Hector Martin will be recognized prior to the game.
