HARRISONBURG, Virginia – Senior Gabe Thran and sophomore Christine Souther won the men’s 100 Freestyle and women’s 200 IM, respectively, on Saturday to lead UNCW at the Colonial Athletic Association Pod Meet at the Savage Natatorium.

The Seahawk men (3-3, 1-1 CAA) split their dual meets, topping Delaware, but losing to William & Mary. The women, meanwhile dropped all three meets and saw their record dip to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Thran led a 1-2-3 Seahawk finish in the 100 Free with a time of 46.07 seconds. Juniors Alex Labonge and Adam Salzman finished second and third, respectively.

In the women’s 200 IM, Souther won the event with a time of 2:08.41.

The UNCW men’s 400 Free Relay of Valtteri Halonen, Salzman, Labange and Thran, closed out the meet with a win, posting a time of 3:04.78.

The Seahawks return to the pool on Nov. 9 for a 2 p.m. meet with NC State.
