Paced the Seahawks with 11 total blocks (two solo) and seven kills in loss to league-leading College of Charleston … The 11 rejections by Peacock equaled the program’s single-match record for total blocks in the rally-scoring era and set a new program mark for blocks in a three-set match …Also finished with .438 hitting percentage, committing no errors in 16 total attack attempts.

UNCW Notes (14-8; 3-5 CAA)

UNCW fell in its only match of the week, suffering a 3-0 setback at league-leading College of Charleston on Oct. 26 … Sophomore Meredith Peacock paced the Seahawks with 11 total blocks (two solo) and seven kills … The 11 rejections by Peacock equaled the program’s single-match record for total blocks in the rally-scoring era and set a new program mark for blocks in a three-set match … Peacock also posted a .438 hitting percentage against the Cougars as she was not charged with an error in 16 swings … Senior Christi Laite led the Seahawks with nine kills as she was held below double-digit kills for just the sixth time this season and the first time in six matches … The Seahawks continue to rank among the top 25 programs in the nation in both blocks (2.76/20th) and service aces (1.70/10th) per set … Peacock also ranks high among individual players in blocks per frame, coming in fifth in the nation in that category (1.53) … UNCW returns to action this week with a pair of home matches as it hosts Towson (Nov. 1) and Delaware (Nov. 3) … The Seahawks are 6-1 at home during the 2013 season and have posted a sweep in four of their six home victories.

Towson (8-20; 1-8 CAA)

Under the guidance of first-year head coach Don Metil, Towson looks to play itself back into postseason contention as it picked up its first conference victory of the season last weekend against James Madison .. Saitaua Iosia has paced the Tigers attack this season, ranking seventh in the league in kills per set (3.05) … Paige Sekerak and Lindsay Flaherty have highlighted the team’s defensive efforts, with Sekerak sitting third in the league in digs per frame (4.02) and Flaherty leading the squad in blocks per frame (0.94) … Towson holds a 17-4 edge in the all-time series and has won four straight from UNCW … The Seahawks last win in the series came in a 3-2 victory over the Tigers at Hanover Hall on Oct. 1, 2010.    

Delaware (11-12; 3-6 CAA)

Delaware eyes a return to the win column after falling in a pair of home contests to league foes James Madison (3-1) and William & Mary (3-2) last weekend … Katie Hillman leads the Blue Hens attack, averaging 3.30 kills per frame to rank fourth in the league in that category while MacKenzie Olsen leads the circuit in assists per frame (9.64) … Ariel Shonk has been one of the top defensive players in the league this season, averaging 5.65 digs per frame to sit second in the league in that category … Delaware holds a 23-3 edge in the all-time series … The Blue Hens have won 16 straight against the Seahawks dating back to the 2003 season … UNCW last victory over Delaware came in a 3-2 triumph at Hanover Hall on Oct. 31, 2003.
