WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW volleyball team begins the second half of conference play on Saturday as it travels to league-leading College of Charleston for a 2 p.m. matinee at TD Arena.

The Seahawks (14-7; 3-4 CAA) will be looking for revenge against the Colonial Athletic Association’s newest member as the Cougars (17-4; 7-0 CAA) took the first meeting between the two teams, 3-1, on Oct. 11 at Hanover Hall.

UNCW head into their visit to Lowcountry on a high note as it swept both of its matches against James Madison and William & Mary last weekend to improve its home record to 6-1 this season. Senior Christi Laite earned Co-Offensive Player-of-the-Week honors for the second time this season, tallying 30 kills and posted a .472 hitting percentage to power the Seahawks attack. Sophomore Meredith Peacock also had a solid weekend, finishing with 16 total blocks as she remained first in the CAA and 12th in the nation in blocks per set (1.44).

College of Charleston remained undefeated in league play as it also claimed victories against James Madison (3-1) and William & Mary (3-0) at home last weekend.

Senior Darcy Dorton continues to pace a potent Cougars lineup that ranks among the top 40 programs in the country in kills (13.90/33rd), assists (12.96/34th) and hitting percentage (.255/39th) with a 3.31 kills per set clip. The Cougars also feature the only three players in the CAA hitting better than .300 this season with redshirt senior Kerstin Koehler (.351), redshirt junior Cara Howley (.342) and junior Sloane White (.320) sitting 1-2-3 in that category. Junior Andi Zbojniewicz, the reigning CAA Defensive Player of the Week, leads the Cougars and ranks seventh in the league in digs per frame (3.42).

UNCW returns home next weekend as it opens November with league matches against Towson (Nov. 1) and Delaware (Nov. 3) at Hanover Hall.
