RALEIGH, North Carolina – UNCW senior Ryan Nagy fired a two-under-par-70 in the final round of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate and recorded his first top-10 finish of the season and third of his career to lead the Seahawks to a fifth-place finish on Tuesday.

East Tennessee claimed the team title by 11 strokes over UNC Greensboro. Host NC State finished third followed by East Carolina and UNCW.

UNCG’s Carter Jenkins (65-63-75=203) led wire-to-wire and held off Gudmundur Kristjansson (68-66-71=205) of ETSU for a two-stroke win.

"We had a good tournament and we're beginning to see what this team has to offer," said UNCW Head Coach Matt Clark. "We need to cut down on the silly mistakes and continue to play aggressive. What Ryan (Nagy) did today on a very breezy day was amazing. He knows he can score low and compete for us in every tournament."

Nagy (74-71-70=215) recorded four birdies and an eagle in the round to jump into the top-10 after opening the day tied for 27th overall. His 70 in the final round was a season-low round for him.

Freshman Trey Guy (72-67-78=217), who was making his collegiate debut for the Seahawks, finished tied for 15th after opening the final round in a tie for eighth.

"Try made the most of his opportunity this week and it was exciting to see. He was confident and played aggressive."

The Seahawks close out their fall portion of the schedule this weekend at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. The tournament will be competed at the Blackthorn Club beginning on Oct. 11.
