WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Head Coach Aidan Heaney and his UNCW Seahawks open the “second” season this Saturday when they visit the College of Charleston in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both programs.

The game is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. A Free live stream of the game can be found at this link.

The Seahawks are coming off a 1-all draw with longtime rival Campbell earlier in the week as they moved to 3-3-1overall and 1-1-1 at home. Trailing 1-0, early in the second half David Sizemore notched his second goal of the season in the 62nd minute for the equalizer. Both teams combined for 26 shots on the evening, but managed to send just 10 on frame.

CofC, who enters their first season as a member of the CAA following a long tenure in the Southern Conference, totes a 1-5 mark into the weekend. The Cougars have dropped their last four outings, including a pair of setbacks on the west coast to Stanford and California.

Offensively, the Cougars have two goals on the season, both from Xavier Rajpaul. His first goal of the season was a game-winner against visiting Xavier. In goal, Alex Young (1.18) leads a trio of keepers that have posted a 1.66 goals against average.

CofC has been outscored 10-2 this season.

Colin Bonner continues to lead UNCW with six points on a pair of goals and assists. Bonner, though, has not scored since the season-opener when he notched two goals in a 2-1 win at Ohio State. Nathaniel Goodwin also has two goals, both being game-winners.

Sam Williams made his season debut against Campbell and finished with five saves.

The Charleston game opens a three-game road swing for the Seahawks who visit Duke on Oct. 1 and Hofstra on Oct. 5.
