WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Senior Rafael Aita took fifth place in the Virginia Ranked+1 Invitational and Seahawk players went 3-1 at the Ivy Plus Invitational to wrap up the UNCW men’s tennis team’s play over the weekend at two different sites.

Aita knocked off his second N.C. State opponent in as many days in the Orange Singles draw when the Lima, Peru, netter rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, victory over Simon Norenius.

In Blue Singles, junior Zach Hublitz downed Wake Forest’s Aws Laaribi, 6-4, 6-3, in the consolation bracket.

Junior Sam Williams lost his bid for third place in the consolations when the Bristol, England, netter fell, 6-4, 6-3, to Joe Salisbury of Memphis.

UNCW also enjoyed a solid day at the Ivy Plus Invitational hosted by Yale in New Haven, Conn. Sophomore Santtu Leskinen won the B Draw consolation crown with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Penn’s Matt Nardella.
