WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women’s soccer team completes the non-conference portion of its 2013 schedule Sunday with a 2 p.m. contest at Francis Marion.

The Seahawks (4-5-0) enter Sunday’s matchup with the Patriots looking to continue its winning ways after picking up their third straight victory and four win in five contests with a 1-0 victory over visiting Coastal Carolina on Thursday. Sophomore Katrina Guillou scored the only goal of the contest in the 10th minute and freshman Lissa Rahkola made four saves to record the first shutout of her career.

Sophomore Maddie McCormick picked up an assist on Guillou’s game-winning goal against the Chanticleers to stretch her team-leading point total to 10 (4 G, 2 A). Guillou’s goal moved her into sole possession of second place on the squad’s scoring chart with eight points (3 G, 2 A) while junior Stephanie Bronson is in third with six points on three goals.

Francis Marion (0-6-0) makes its home debut on Sunday in search of its first victory of the year after wrapping up its season-opening road swing with a 2-0 setback at East Tennessee State.

Junior forwards Elizabeth Asare and Chanel Harris lead a Patriot offense that has been held to just three goals this season as Asare has tallied a team-high four points (2 G) while Harris has three points on a goal and an assist. Sophomore keeper Taylor O'Berry has started all six games in goal for the Patriots and has made 33 saves and compiled a .717 save percentage in that span.

Sunday’s contest marks the eighth meeting between the two programs. UNCW holds a 6-1 edge in the series and won the last meeting between the two sides, a 2-0 victory at FMU on Aug. 19, 2011.

UNCW opens Colonial Athletic Association play next weekend as it travels to Hofstra (Sept. 27) and Northeastern (Sept. 29) for a pair of league contests.
