WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women’s basketball team begins its 2013-14 Colonial Athletic Association schedule at home versus Northeastern on Jan. 9 and closes out the regular season with a visit to new league member College of Charleston in early March.

The Seahawks will play 16 conference games in a double round-robin schedule for the 2013-14 campaign, with each team facing all eight opposing league members in a home-and-home format.

“Finally our schedule is complete,” said UNCW Head Coach Adell Harris. “With only nine teams competing for this season’s championship, I anticipate a very competitive January thru March. Double round robin play will create a familiarity amongst teams that will allow for some very tough battles.”

“For the first time in a while, there is a bit of uncertainty within the league,” Harris continued. “One new school is added, several new coaches added and one of the greatest players in league history has graduated. One thing will remain the same. The CAA will continue to be one the nation’s best conferences and as always I look forward to the challenge”

UNCW ‘s January schedule features seven conference contests, beginning with the home matchup against the Huskies. The Seahawks will also face Hofstra (Jan. 12), William & Mary (Jan. 23) and James Madison (Jan. 26) at Trask Coliseum during the first month of conference play, while traveling to Delaware (Jan. 17), Towson (Jan. 19) and Hofstra (Jan. 31).
