WILMINGTON, North Carolina – It will be an all-UNCW final in the A Doubles draw and two Seahawks will battle for singles championships when the UNCW Men’s Tennis Invitational concludes Sunday at Empie Park’s Althea Gibson Tennis Center.

The Seahawk tandems of Rafael Aita-Sam Williams and Zach Hublitz-Santtu Leskinen are scheduled to battle Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for the A Doubles crown. Aita and Williams, ranked 14th nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, bageled New Mexico’s Mitch McDaniels and Andy Van Der Vyver, 8-0, in the semifinals, while Hublitz and Leskinen dispatched VCU’s Alejandro Argente and Jean Baptiste Mateo, 8-5. Aita and Williams have only surrendered four games in the tourney.

Hublitz, meanwhile, downed Van Der Vyver, 6-4, 6-1, in the semifinals of the B Singles draw to reach the finals. He will face Liberty junior Dillon Segur at 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

In C Singles, Leskinen will go up against VCU’s Jacob Svensson at 10:45 a.m. Sunday for the hardware. Leskinen, a sophomore from Helsinki, Finland, cruised past ECU’s Blake Gregory, 6-2, 6-1, and Svensson topped ECU’s Patriek Wolterbeek, 6-3, 6-4.

UNCW freshman Karan Salwan picked up his first collegiate victory with a 6-0, 6-1 domination of N.C. Central’s Fabrice George in the back draw of C Singles. He also teamed up with Christiaan Van der Burgh to beat George and Stephan Charles-Donatien of NCCU, 8-1, in A Doubles.

The three-day event wraps up with the finals of all six draws – two doubles and four singles - on Sunday. Admission is free.
