The Seahawks play the final of two exhibition games on Saturday as they visit NC State for a 7 p.m. kickoff at the Dail Soccer Field.

UNCW enters its final test following a 6-1 blitzing of Longwood last weekend at Legion Field in Wilmington. Sophomore Colin Bonner led the scoring parade with a pair of goals as UNCW netted four goals in the second half to break open a 2-0 game at the intermission.

Bonner scored twice in the first half to give the Seahawks the lead after 45 minutes.

Head Aidan Heaney, who enters his 13th season on the sidelines for UNCW, and his Seahawks will open the season at Big 10 member Ohio State in the Wolstein Classic, along with Cincinnati and Northern Illinois. The Buckeyes own a win over IPFW and suffered a loss to West Virginia in the exhibition season. OSU visits Notre Dame for its final exhibition outing prior to opening the season.

Notes from Longwood exhibition: 18 players saw time for the Seahawks, including three who made their collegiate debuts … Freshman Kellen Foster made the starting 11 while fellow rookies Freddy Nzekele and Sean Melvin took the field in the second half … Juniors Mateo Cardona and Jamie Dell both finished the game with three points on a goal and an assist each … Both scored in the four-goal second half as Nzekele and Jack Ward also found the back of the net … Sam Williams made the start in goal and finished with a save on LU’s only shot of the half … UNCW outshot the Lancers, 16-5, including a 7-1 spread in the opening half.
