WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW forward Karneshia Garrett was once again recognized for her outstanding 2012-13 season as she was named Second-Team All-State by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA).

A Third-Team All-CAA selection, Garrett started all 30 games played in 2012-13 and averaged a double-double with 10.8 points and 11.0 rebounds per contest. A native of Hoover, Ala, Garrett ranked second in the CAA and 19th in the nation in rebounds per game as she collected 330 rebounds during the campaign, the third-highest single season total in school history.

Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools.

NCCSSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball.
