WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW women’s basketball coach Adell Harris announced the promotion of staff member Jason Eshbaugh to assistant coach on Friday.

A native of Mercer, Pa., Eshbaugh served as Director of Basketball Operations on Harris’ staff during the 2012-13 season. In his new role, he will assist with the team’s offensive system as well as opponent scouting.

“I’m happy for Jason,” said Harris. “He has earned this promotion. He is loyal and committed to our Championship vision. I look forward to working with him in his new role.”

Eshbaugh joined the Seahawks staff in 2012 after eight seasons at Wake Forest, where he served as the director of player development and scouting for the 2011-12 season after handling the Director of Basketball Operations duties for the Demon Deacons program the previous seven campaigns.

Prior to his time in Winston-Salem, Eshbaugh spent two seasons as a graduate assistant with the Kentucky women's basketball program and one season as the assistant coach for the varsity men's basketball team at Mercer Area High School, in Mercer, Pa.

Eshbaugh received his undergraduate degree in business management from Grove City College before earning his master's degree in sports management from Kentucky.
