WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW men's tennis standout Kosta Blank has been named First-Team Academic All-District and will move on to the national ballot for the Capital One Academic All-America at-large team administered by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A senior from Winnipeg, Canada, Blank was one of 10 student-athletes honored. His name will be placed on the national ballot with winners from seven other designated districts across the country.

Blank recently led the Seahawks to their third Colonial Athletic Association championship and fourth appearance in the NCAA Regionals. Blank and doubles partner Chris Cooprider will compete in the NCAA national draw next week at the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships in Champaign, Ill.

“We're very pleased that Kosta has been recognized with this honor,” said Mait DuBois, UNCW's sixth-year coach. “He has not only been a tremendous player for us over the last four years, but an outstanding student as well. He leaves a legacy that will be difficult to match.”

Blank, a First-Team All-Conference selection in singles and doubles, stands 15-5 in singles and 13-5 in doubles this spring. He and Cooprider are ranked 30^th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association doubles rankings for the No. 53 Seahawks.
