WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Former Pender High School standout Addison Spruill will join the UNCW men’s basketball program following two seasons at Brevard Community College in Florida.

The 6-4, 220-pound guard will have two years of eligibility remaining for Coach Buzz Peterson and the Seahawks. He averaged 17.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists in two seasons with the Titans, leading Coach Jeremy Shulman’s team to back-to-back 20 win seasons.

“We’re looking forward to having Addison join our team,” said Peterson, who begins his fourth season with the Seahawks in 2013-14. “He has a great basketball physique and can play a number of positions. We’ve been watching him since coming here and believe he’ll be a great addition to our backcourt.”

A native of Currie, N.C., Spruill returns to the area following an outstanding career at Pender. He led the Patriots to a 27-2 record and an appearance in the Eastern Regional final in 2010-11 after averaging 18.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
