WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW head men’s soccer coach Aidan Heaney has announced the addition of Macsen Pritchard to his roster for the 2013-14 season.

Macsen Pritchard (Odessa, Fla./Tampa Prep) is a right/center back who was an All-State selection for the Terrapins in 2012. Pritchard, who will captain the Terps this season, helped Tampa Prep to the 2009-10 Florida 1A State Championship and then to the quarterfinals in 2010-11. In addition to being all-state last season, he was honored with All-County and All-Conference honors. Pritchard is well versed on the club level, playing with the Tampa Bay United. In 2011-12, TBU won the Region III Premier League title and qualified for the USYS National League for the 2012-13 season. Macsen’s parents are also gifted athletes, his mother Susan was a three-time All-America at George Mason in track while his father Edward was a five-time all-conference selection in tennis for Allegheny College.

“Macsen has size, strength and athleticism along with high technical ability. He is comfortable in possession and has a good range of passing. He was our latest addition to the 2013 class, and I am looking for him to prepare himself to compete for minutes on the field as a right back or center back.”
