WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW junior Lori Beth Adams has been named Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for the sixth time this season, league officials announced on Thursday.

The honor was Adam’s fourth of the spring season (Feb. 27, March 13, March 27 and April 11). She was also recognized twice during the fall portion of the team’s schedule (Sept. 19 & Oct. 10).

“Lori Beth has been a consistent performer all year and these awards are a reflection of not only her skill but of her hard work and dedication,” said UNCW Head coach Cindy Ho. “She played solid golf throughout the entire tournament and gave herself a chance to win at the end.”

A native of Burlington, N.C., Adams posted her fourth top five finish and seventh top 10 result of the season at the UNCW Seahawk Classic last weekend at the River Landing Golf Course. Adams ended the 54-hole event by posting a six-over-par result of 73-74-75=222 to claim third, matching her highest finish of the season. The junior helped the Seahawks to a fourth-place finish, representing UNCW’s fourth top five finish in 10 events this season.

UNCW returns to action April 19-21 in the CAA Women’s Golf Championships on the Reserve Course of the St. James Plantation in nearby Southport. The Seahawks are the two-time defending champions and have won four of the last six conference titles.
