WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW continues it spring exhibition schedule Wednesday when it hosts the hometown Wilmington Hammerheads at 7 p.m. at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

The Seahawks opened their spring season with an impressive draw at North American Soccer League member Carolina RailHawks. After a scoreless first half, both teams combined for six second half goals. Notching goals for UNCW were Mateo Cardona, Jack Ward and Colin Bonner.

The Hammerheads will be playing their fourth exhibition of the preseason. A member of the USL Pro Division, Wilmington opens its season in less than a month on Apr. 19, in Antigua. Former Seahawks Daniel Roberts, Christian Davidson and Shaun Utterson are on the Wilmington roster.

UNCW will then host North Carolina in a “Harry’s Game” benefit for Down Syndrome Awareness with all proceeds going to the local chapter of TOPS Soccer.
