WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Senior middle infielder Michael Bass helped UNCW to a 3-1 week with wins over Elon, Coastal Carolina and at James Madison with a big week at the plate, keying the Seahawks at the top of the order and earning Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player-of-the-Week honors.

Bass led the Seahawks to an impressive 3-1 week, hitting .625 with six runs scored and seven knocked in. He also posted a .700 OBA and a .875 slugging percentage. Against Coastal Carolina, he launched his team-leading and career-high fourth homer, a three-run shot, that tied the game and ignited the Seahawks to score the next eight runs and take control of the game.

Bass extended his hitting streak to a career-high 15 game and his on base streak to 21 games. In two games against JMU, he hit .714, scored three times and knocked in three.

Bass shared the award with Towson junior outfielder Dominic Fratantuono.

The Seahawks open a six-game homestand on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. start against East Carolina. UNCW head coach Mark Scalf will be honored prior to the game for winning his 700th career game last week against Elon.
