WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW hosts its second and final home meet of the young outdoor season beginning on Friday when it welcomes eight teams to the Greene Track & Field Complex for the UNCW Seahawk Invitational.

The meet commences with the Hammer Throw on Friday at 11 a.m. and ends with the men's and women's 5,000 meters beginning at 5 p.m. On Saturday, field events open the day at 10 a.m. with the track events starting at noon with the 4x100 relay.

Highlighting the Seahawks entries are Clarissa Perkins and Aerial Chatman. Perkins will again compete in the Hammer, Shot Put and Discus while Chatman, who competed in the Long Jump and Triple Jump at the NCAA Regional last season, will compete in both events this weekend. Perkins broke the UNCW standard in the Shot Put last weekend with a throw of 45-3 3/4 feet.

Meena Reid and Hailey Blackburn will both compete in the 100 and 200 meters for the Seahawks. Reid holds the UNCW record in both events while Blackburn finished the indoor season strong winning back-to-back 60 meter sprint events.

Jeremy Johnson will head up the Seahawk sprinters when he competes in both the 100 and 200 meters. He holds the program's third fastest time in both events.

UNCW will have a short turn around when it returns to action on Mar. 14 at the Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
