LONG BEACH, Calif. - UNCW finished eighth at the Del Walker Intercollegiate Classic at the Virginia Country Club after finishing nine-over in the third and final round on Tuesday. Junior Payne McLeod finished a team-best tied for 24th.

Host Long Beach State (284-280-274=838) rallied on the final day to win the tournament by three strokes over Pacific (280-276-285=841).

McLeod (73-73-71=217) carded a one-over-71 in the final round to lead the Seahawks, who finished two strokes behind seventh-place British Columbia.

Junior Josh Woodfox (72-76-74=222) finished tied for 33rd while playing as an individual.

The Seahawks return to the west coast for the Bandon Dunes Intercollegiate in Bend, Ore., on Mar. 8-10.
