WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Freshman third baseman Steven Linkous helped UNCW to a series win over Lehigh and was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie-of-the-Week by the conference office on Tuesday.

Linkous, who drew his first career start in the series opener against Lehigh, collected four hits, scored three runs and knocked in two as the Seahawks raced past the Mountain Hawks, 15-0, in game one.

For the week, Linkous, a local product of North Brunswick High School in Leland, hit .455 with four runs scored and two stolen bases as the Seahawks went 2-2.

The Seahawks return to the diamond on Friday with a 4 p.m. start against Stony Brook, who reached the College World Series last season. The game is part of the annual Hughes Bros.
