GAINESVILLE, Florida - Freshman Kelsey Stewart went 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead No. 5 Florida to a 9-1 victory over UNCW in action in the Florida Lipton Invitational Sunday at KSP Stadium.

The Gators remained undefeated on the young season as they improved to 11-0 on the campaign. The Seahawks slipped to 4-6 as they finished the Florida Lipton Invitational with a 1-4 record.

Stewart powered a Florida lineup that combined for 11 hits in the contest, including seven for extra bases. Sophomore Katie Medina was 2-for-2 with three RBI while senior Kelsey Horton was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Sophomore Jordan Critcher was 1-for-2 with a solo home run to lead UNCW at the plate. Senior Lauryn Buckworth and freshman Jordin Phillips were also credited with base hits in the contest for the Seahawks.

Critcher staked UNCW to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, hitting her second home run in as many contest to give the Seahawks the early advantage.

Florida would respond to the Critcher blast in the bottom of the frame, however, using a two-run home run from Horton and a two-run single from Medina to take a 4-1  lead.

The Gators added to their lead in the fourth, plating two runs on a leadoff home run from sophomore Jessica Damico and a two-out double from Stewart to build a 6-1 cushion.

Florida closed out the scoring with three runs in the sixth. The Gators used back-to-back doubles from Medina and Munro to bring home the first two runs of the frame before a RBI single by Stewart made it a 9-1 contest and evoked the eight-run rule.

Sophomore Lauren Haeger pitched all six innings in the circle for the Gators and picked up her second win of the weekend against the Seahawks to improve her record to 4-0. Haeger allowed one run on three hits and two walks. She struck out seven.

Sophomore Casey Rowland took the loss for the Seahawks as she saw her season mark evened at 2-2. Rowland surrendered nine runs on 11 hits and four walks in 6.1 innings in the circle.

UNCW is back in action Feb. 22 as it opens the Seahawk Classic with games against Morehead State (2 p.m.) and UMBC (4:30 p.m.).
