WILMINGTON, North Carolina - As Wilmingtonians awakened early Saturday to a crisp January morning, several members of the UNCW women's basketball team decided to give back. They simply wanted to help someone own their own home.
That meant donning an extra layer to lend a hand - and a shovel - with a Habitat For Humanity project rising out of the earth at 3918 Prices Lane in Gideon Pointe.
The Seahawks arrived early, grabbed shovels and picks, and worked alongside other volunteers to dig footings for the structure. Members of the team and coaching staff were more than happy to take a break from the court to be a good partner in the Wilmington community.
