WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Sophomore Cedrick Williams scored 10 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds for his second double-double of the season to power UNCW past Wofford, 49-37, in the Nations of Coaches Basketball Classic Saturday at Trask Coliseum.

The Seahawks snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 2-3 on the young season. The Terriers, 2-5, split a pair of games in the weekend event after defeating Hampton, 56-51, on Friday.

The 39 points allowed by the Seahawks was the lowest total under the direction of Head Coach Buzz Peterson, who celebrated his 250th career victory. Wofford was limited to just six points in the final 5:45 of the second half.

Williams, who had a double-double in the season-opening win over UNC Asheville and just 11 points in the last three outings, stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field, and 15 rebounds, including 12 on the defensive glass. He added four blocked shots in an all-around effort.

Junior forward Keith Rendleman reached double figures for the 17th straight game spanning over to last season - tops in the CAA - with a game-high 16 points and eight rebounds.

Freshman guard Spencer Collins paced the Terriers of the Southern Conference with 13 points while Lee Skinner added six points and a team-high nine rebounds. Wofford was outrebounded, 44-30.

In the inaugural meeting between the two schools, the Seahawks grabbed control early and led by as many as 17 points in the second half. The Seahawks wrap up the weekend with a 2 p.m. matchup Sunday against Hampton in the final game of the round-robin exempt event.

Wofford's Karl Cochran made a steal and layup with 15:11 remaining to pull the Terriers within 32-24 before the Seahawks got some separation with an 11-2 spurt. Milson drained a long three-pointer, Williams notched his double-double and Rendleman capped the rally with a bucket in the post at 7:41 to push the margin to 43-26.

The Terriers reeled off nine unanswered points to chop the deficit to eight points, 43-35, on a layup by Collins at 3:37. However, Rendleman answered with a putback on the other end and the Seahawks held on in the final four minutes.

The Seahawks scored the first four points of the second half to stretch their lead to 10 points, 29-19, behind a bank shot on the right side by Rendleman at 17:36.

After Rendleman picked up two quick fouls in the first nine minutes of the contest, the Seahawks looked to Williams and the big man from Murfreesboro, Tenn., delivered. Williams scored eight points and hauled in 10 rebounds as the Seahawks inched out to a 25-19 lead at the break.

With the game tied at 8-all, UNCW scored eight of the next 10 points and a Luke Hager free throw gave the Seahawks a 16-10 edge with just under 10 minutes left in the opening period.

UNCW maintained that advantage throughout the first half and used a stingy defensive stand at the end of the period, holding the Terriers scoreless over the final 6:08, for its six-point lead at halftime. Wofford ended up shooting just 36.4 percent and committing nine turnovers in a ragged first half.
