NEWARK, Delaware - Kyle Bruno's goal in the 36th minute lifted Delaware to a 1-0 win over UNCW on Friday in Colonial Athletic Association men's soccer action at the UD Mini-Stadium.

With the loss, the Seahawks (7-10-1, 4-11-4) enter the CAA tournament as the six-seed and will visit James Madison on Nov. 5 for a first round game with the Dukes. Drexel won the regular season title and will host the final four on Nov. 9 and 11. Delaware, the reigning conference champions, concludes its season with a record of 4-11-4 and 2-5-3.

"We had opportunities in the first half, but weren't able to convert," said UNCW Head Coach Aidan Heaney. "Credit Delaware, they were able to get the goal they needed. We're looking forward to playing Monday at JMU. It's a new season and we're eager to get after it."

The Seahawks held a narrow 13-12 advantage in shots, but managed just three on goal.

Sam Williams finished with a season-high five saves for the Seahawks while UD's Paul DeFeo was called upon to make three stops.

Joe Dipre was credited with an assist on Bruno's goal. For Bruno, it was his second goal of the season and helped the Blue Hens halt a three-game losing streak.

The win also extended UD's winning streak against UNCW to three straight. The Seahawks still own an 8-3 series lead.

The Seahawks hosted James Madison earlier this season and saw the Dukes nip the Seahawks, 2-1, with a goal in the second overtime period.
