Golfer-of-the-Week Nominee

Jens Geweke, Freshman, Dortmund, Germany/Helene-Lange Gymnasium

- After posting his first top-20 finish last week, Geweke continued his tremendous play and finished tied for ninth at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate. Geweke opened with a two-over-par 74 in the first round, but bounced back and carded a two-under 7- in round two and an even-par 72 in the third and final round. In his last six rounds, Geweke has recorded four rounds of par or lower golf.

While Geweke shined for the Seahawks with all three rounds counting for the Seahawks, junior Josh Woodfox produced his best career finish with a tie for 20th as an individual at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate ... Woodfox carded a career-low round of 70 in the third and final round ... Junior Payne McLeod tied for 16th at three-over for the tournament ... He maintained program-record stroke average (72.96) ... UNCW's seventh-place showing at the Wolfpack was the lowest finish for the fall season ... The Seahawks will return to the links on Feb. 25-26 at the Del Walker Intercollegiate in Long Beach, Calif.
