RALEIGH, North
Carolina - Freshman Jens Geweke concluded the fall season with his first
top-10 finish after tying for ninth overall with an even-par 216 to lead UNCW,
which placed seventh in its final outing of the fall, at the Wolfpack
Intercollegiate in Raleigh on Saturday.
Geweke (74-70-72=216), who recorded his first top-20 finish
last week at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, finished the tournament with
an even-par 72 on Saturday. In his last six rounds, he's carded four rounds of
par or better scores and is just three strokes over par during that span.
Also posting a top-20 finish for the Seahawks was junior
Payne McLeod (73-75-71=219). McLeod finished tied for 16th.
Junior Josh Woodfox (74-76-70=220) competed as an individual
for UNCW and finished tied for 20th, his top finish in his career. Woodfox shot
a career-low two-under-par 70 on Saturday to move from 32nd to 20th.
The Seahawks will open the spring portion of their schedule
on Feb. 25-26 in Long Beach, Calif., at the Del Walker Intercollegiate.
