RALEIGH, North
Carolina - Freshman Jens Geweke's season-low round of two-under-par 70 has
him tied for fifth overall after two rounds at the Wolfpack Invitational on
Friday. UNCW is in sixth after rebounding from a slow start.
Geweke, who posted his first top-20 finish of the fall last
weekend at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, opened with a 74, but was
able to post a 70 in the second round to jump up the leaderboard. He's in a
seven-way tie for fifth and just two shots off the lead.
East Carolina (292-285=577) holds a one-stroke lead over
37th-ranked North Carolina (287-291=578) entering the final round. Host NC
State (297-290=587) is 10 strokes behind ECU.
Maryland's Andrew McCain (71-71=142) Is tied with Western
Carolina's J.T. Poston (74-68=142) for the medalist lead.
