Carolina - The UNCW women's soccer team begins a three-game road swing this
weekend as it travels to Towson and George Mason for a pair of crucial Colonial
Athletic Association contests.
The Seahawks will open the weekend Friday with a 3 p.m.
contest against the Tigers at the Tiger Soccer Complex before traveling to
Fairfax, Va., Sunday for a 1 p.m. matinee versus the Patriots.

Currently tied with James Madison for the sixth and final spot in the
upcoming CAA Tournament, UNCW will attempt to improve their chances of making
postseason play this weekend as only six points separate the top seven teams in
the league ... The Seahawks improved to 9-6-1 overall and 4-3-0 in league play
with a 3-1 victory at home against James Madison in their only contest last
week ... Against the Dukes, senior Stephanie Rose scored twice in the final 14
minutes of regulation to break a 1-all tie and lead the Seahawks to their
second straight win ... Rose continues to pace the CAA in scoring as she now has
amassed 26 points on nine goals and eight assists ... She is ranked among the top
25 players in the nation in total points ... Rose also surpassed former Seahawk
standout Kelly Renkin for third place on the program's career scoring charts during
the JMU contest as she now has amassed 74 points (29 G, 16 A) during her career
... Senior defender Lindsay Henry tallied her first points of the season in the
win against the Dukes, adding a goal and an assist ... The goal was Henry's first
since the 2010 season ... Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter remains ranked among the
league leaders in save percentage (.850/2nd) and goals against average
(0.93/3rd) ... Hunter now needs just one more victory to move into a tie for
first place with Meghan Fitzsimmons for first place on the program's career
wins chart (27) ... UNCW remains the highest ranked Colonial Athletic Association
school in the latest Rating Percentage Index (RPI), released by the NCAA on
Monday ... The Seahawks are ranked 55th, eighth spots ahead of the next highest
CAA team, Hofstra (63rd).
Scouting Towson
Towson begins the week with a 1-13-1 overall mark and a 1-6-0 record in
league play after suffering a pair of setbacks at league foes Northeastern
(2-1) and Hofstra (3-1) last weekend ... Senior Cheyenne Skidmore leads the team
in scoring with seven points (3 G, 1 A) while junior Emily Banes is close
behind in second with six (3 G) ... Sophomore Erin Quinn has started all
15 games in goal for the Tigers and currently leads the CAA in saves (104) ...
She has also fashioned a .727 save percentage to rank 10th in the league in
that category ... Greg Paynter is in his sixth season as head coach of the Tigers
... He has led Towson to seven or more victories in three of his previous five
seasons.

Towson
UNCW holds a 9-2 lead in the all-time series with Towson ... The Seahawks
have held the edge in the series of late, winning eight of the last nine
meetings between the two programs ... Towson halted the Seahawks' eight-game
winning streak with a 1-0 overtime triumph last October at the UNCW Soccer
Stadium ... UNCW is 4-1 all-time on the road against Towson, with victories in
each of their last four visits to the Tiger Soccer Complex, including a 2-1

Scouting George Mason
George Mason brings a 5-10-1 overall record and a 1-5-1 league mark into
the final weekend of the regular season following a pair of shutout losses at
Hofstra (1-0) and Northeastern (2-0) last weekend ... The Patriots open the
weekend Friday with a contest against Georgia State before entertaining the
Seahawks on Sunday ... senior Tiana Kallenberger paces the Patriots lineup and is
tied for third in the league in scoring with 19 points (8 G, 3 A) while Liz
Hodges is second with 10 points (5 G) ... Junior Lyndse Hokanson has seen time in
goal for 14 of the team's 16 contests and is among the league leaders in save
percentage (.754/8th) and goals against average (1.29/7th) ... Diane Drake is in
her ninth season as head coach of the Patriots program ... She has led the squad

Preseason All-CAA Women's Soccer Team on Aug. 15 ... Rose, a native of
Jacksonville, N.C., earned Third-Team All-CAA accolades last season after
leading the Seahawks in scoring with 10 points on a team-high five goals.
Seahawks Record Tie Against No. 3 Wake Forest
UNCW
posted its first win or tie against a top 10 opponent when it played to a 0-0
draw against No. 3 Wake Forest at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in
Blacksburg, Va. on Aug. 19 ... The draw also marked the Seahawks first result
against an opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference as they had compiled a
0-11-0 mark versus the league prior to the tie with the Demon Deacons.
Hunter Honored For Solid Opening Weekend
Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter was recognized by
various outlets for her play in the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in
mid-August ... On Aug. 20, Hunter was named the Colonial Athletic Association
Women's Soccer Co-Player-of-the-Week and was selected as the CAA
Player-of-the-Week by the online publication College
Sports Madness ... Hunter was also selected as the keeper for the
Soccer America Women's Team-of-the-Week on Aug. 22 ... Hunter allowed just one
goal in 211:37 in guiding the Seahawks to a 0-1-1 result against two ranked
opponents at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational ... The Ashburn, Va.,
product made six saves in a 1-0 double-overtime loss to host No. 22 Virginia
Tech in the season opener on Aug. 17 before posting 10 saves in a 0-0 draw
against No. 3 Wake Forest on Aug. 19 to record her eighth career shutout.

senior midfielder Kim Currie was recognized by

from the online publication for the week of Sept. 3-9 ... Currie was recognized
after earning MVP honors in the UNCW Courtyard Marriott Wilmington
Invitational, tallying five points on two goals and an assist to lead the
Seahawks to the tournament title with shutout victories over Campbell and Troy
... She opened the weekend with a goal in the Seahawks 3-0 victory over the
Camels and capped the event with a goal and an assist in UNCW's 4-0 blanking of
the Trojans.

Stephanie Rose is currently third
in program history with 74 points (29 G, 16 A) ... With her two goals against
James Madison last week, Rose moved past former Seahawk standout Kelly Renkin
into sole possession of third place on the all-time list ... Rose now needs 10
points to match Kristine Mengle for second place on the school's career scoring
chart ... Rose's two tallies against the Dukes also moved her into a tie with
Renkin for third place on the squad's career goals list ... With her team-leading
eight assists this season, Rose is making her way up the single-season charts
as well as she is tied with Christy Timbers (1998) for second place on the
program's single-season assists chart ... Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter finds herself ranked
on four of the program's career charts, entering the weekend in second place in
wins (26), third in saves (308), third in save percentage (.802) and fifth in
goals against average (1.31) ... Hunter begins the weekend just one win shy of
matching Meghan Fitzsimmons for first place on the program's career wins list

league's top seven teams are separated by just six points ... Hofstra and
