WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNCW women's soccer team closes out the home portion of its 2012 schedule Thursday with a critical Colonial Athletic Association against James Madison at the UNCW Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Seahawks and Dukes are part of three-way tie with Northeastern for the sixth and final spot in the Colonial Athletic Association championship. The Huskies have a game in hand on both UNCW and JMU, having played just five league contests to date.

Seahawk Notes
UNCW moved to 8-6-1 overall and 3-3-0 in league play last week with a split of its league matches against William & Mary and Old Dominion ... The Seahawks opened the week with a 3-1 road setback to the Tribe on Oct. 4 before returning home to post a 5-0 shutout of the Lady Monarchs on Oct. 7 ... Junior Natalie Winslow scored her first collegiate goal to give the Seahawks a 1-0 lead against the Tribe, but W&M rallied for three unanswered markers to remain undefeated in league play ... Versus ODU, five different players scored for the Seahawks, all in the second half, to cruise past the Lady Monarchs ... The five goals represented the highest single game goal output for the Seahawks since a 5-1 victory at ODU on Oct. 26, 2007 ... Senior Stephanie Rose tallied a goal and an assist against the Lady Monarchs to increase her league-leading point total to 22 (7 G, 8 A) ... Rose also converted the fifth penalty kick opportunity of her career to move into a tie with former UNCW standout Jenny Cauble for first place on the program's all-time list for penalty kicks made ... Senior Ali Nagle, junior Nicole Costa, sophomore Stephanie Bronson and freshman Maddie McCormick also scored for the Seahawks against the Lady Monarchs ... Freshman defender Lindsey Bryne picked up her first collegiate point with an assist on Bronson's tally ... Senior Caitlin Hunter recorded two saves versus the Lady Monarchs to post her fifth shutout of the season and the 12th clean sheet of her career ... Hunter's shutout moved her into sole possession of third place on the program's career shutouts list ... The Seahawks ranked second in the CAA and 51st nationally on the latest rating percentage index (PRI), released by the NCAA on Monday.

Scouting James Madison
James Madison brings a 5-9-0 overall record and a 3-3-0 league mark into Thursday's contest following a sweep of its league matches against George Mason (1-0) and Towson (1-0) last week ... Junior forward Lauren Wilson, the reigning CAA Player-of-the-Week, leads the Dukes in scoring with 12 points (5 G, 2 A) while senior Kelly Germain is second with 10 (3 G, 4 A) ... Three players - sophomores Marlee Stynchula and Kate Courter and freshman Ellen Forrest - have split in time in goal for JMU this season .. The trio has combined for a 1.46 goals against average, a .747 save percentage and four shutouts ... Dave Lombardo is in his 23rd as head coach of the Dukes ... He has compiled a 276-179-32 record in that span, highlighted by three CAA championships and 10 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Series Notes Versus James Madison
UNCW trails in the all-time series with James Madison by a 4-17 margin ... The series has been even of late with the two sides splitting their last four meetings ... The Dukes posted a 2-0 shutout in their regular season meeting a year ago in Harrisonburg, Va. ... UNCW holds a 2-6 mark at home versus JMU, but has lost its last two matchups against the Dukes at the UNCW Soccer Stadium ... The Seahawks last home victory in the series came in a 2-0 decision on Sept. 23, 2006 ... Sixteen of the previous 21 meetings have been decided by way of shutout.

Seahawks Receiving Votes In NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Poll
UNCW finds itself receiving votes in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region Poll for the eighth straight week, moving into the receiving votes category on the listing that features teams from the CAA, Atlantic 10, Ivy and Patriot leagues ... UNCW had been ranked in all seven previous polls this season prior to moving into the receiving votes category this week ... The Seahawks are one of four CAA squads either ranked or receiving votes in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Poll as conference foes William & Mary (1st), Drexel (5th) and Hofstra (9th) are among the top 10.

Rose Named To Preseason CAA Squad
UNCW senior forward Stephanie Rose was named to the Preseason All-CAA Women's Soccer Team on Aug. 15 ... Rose, a native of Jacksonville, N.C., earned Third-Team All-CAA accolades last season after leading the Seahawks in scoring with 10 points on a team-high five goals.

Seahawks Record Tie Against No. 3 Wake Forest
UNCW posted its first win or tie against a top 10 opponent when it played to a 0-0 draw against No. 3 Wake Forest at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. on Aug. 19 ... The draw also marked the Seahawks first result against an opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference as they had compiled a 0-11-0 mark versus the league prior to the tie with the Demon Deacons.

Hunter Honored For Solid Opening Weekend
Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter was recognized by various outlets for her play in the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in mid-August ... On Aug. 20, Hunter was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Soccer Co-Player-of-the-Week and was selected as the CAA Player-of-the-Week by the online publication College Sports Madness ... Hunter was also selected as the keeper for the Soccer America Women's Team-of-the-Week on Aug. 22 ... Hunter allowed just one goal in 211:37 in guiding the Seahawks to a 0-1-1 result against two ranked opponents at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational ... The Ashburn, Va., product made six saves in a 1-0 double-overtime loss to host No. 22 Virginia Tech in the season opener on Aug. 17 before posting 10 saves in a 0-0 draw against No. 3 Wake Forest on Aug. 19 to record her eighth career shutout.

Currie Recognized By Collegesoccer360.com
UNCW senior midfielder Kim Currie was recognized by Collegesoccer360.com in early September, earning Primetime Player accolades from the online publication for the week of Sept. 3-9 ... Currie was recognized after earning MVP honors in the UNCW Courtyard Marriott Wilmington Invitational, tallying five points on two goals and an assist to lead the Seahawks to the tournament title with shutout victories over Campbell and Troy ... She opened the weekend with a goal in the Seahawks 3-0 victory over the Camels and capped the event with a goal and an assist in UNCW's 4-0 blanking of the Trojans.

Record Watch
Senior Stephanie Rose is currently fourth in program history with 27 goals ... She begins the week needing just two tallies to match Kelly Renkin (2005-08) for third place on the program's all-time list goals list ... Rose also sits in fourth place on the program's career scoring chart with 70 career points (27 G, 16 A) and is just three points shy of matching Renkin for third place on the school's career points chart ... With her team-leading eight assists this season, Rose is making her way up the single-season charts as well as she is tied with Christy Timbers for second place on the program's single-season assists chart ... Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter finds herself ranked on four of the program's career charts, entering the weekend in second place in wins (25), third in saves (307), third in save percentage (.804) and fifth in goals against average (1.32) ... Hunter begins the weekend just two wins shy of matching Meghan Fitzsimmons for first place on the program's career wins list (27) and 12 saves away from equaling Fitzsimmons for second on the program's all-times saves chart.

William & Mary sits atop the league table with a perfect 5-0-0 conference mark while Drexel (4-1-1) and Hofstra (4-1-0) are just behind the Tribe in the league standings ... Drexel's Eve Badana and James Madison's Lauren Wilson shared league Player-of-the-Week honors on Monday ... William & Mary's Barbara Platenberg was recognized as the circuit's Rookie-of-the-Week ... Senior Stephanie Rose leads the league in scoring with 22 points (7 G, 8 A) while William & Mary's Mallory Schaeffer is second with 20 (9 G, 2 A) ... Badana currently paces the league with a 0.65 goals against average while senior Caitlin Hunter is first with a .857 save percentage.
