UNCW Director of Photography Jamie Moncrief prepares for the official team photo late Tuesday at Trask Coliseum

WILMINGTON, North Carolina - New Head Women's Basketball Coach Adell Harris and members of the 2012-13 UNCW women's basketball team welcomed members of the local news media Tuesday at the program's annual Media Day.

The team was introduced to representatives of the Wilmington Star-News, WECT-TV, News 14 Carolina, UNCW Marketing & Communications, UNCW Athletic Communications and ESPN Radio before conducting one-on-one interviews.

The Seahawks welcome back seven letterwinners and three starters from last season's squad that posted a 20-13 overall record and advanced to postseason play for the second consecutive season with an at-large berth to the Women's Postseason National Invitation Tournament.

The team, which opened practice officially Oct. 1, will take part in the annual Midnite Madness festivities Friday before continuing preparations for the regular season, a 29-game slate that includes 13 home games and 16 road contests.

UNCW will play a preseason exhibition contest against UNC Pembroke Nov. 3 in Trask Coliseum before opening the regular season Nov. 9 with a visit to Big 12 newcomer West Virginia.

Season tickets for UNCW's 14 home games are still available by calling the UNCW Athletic Ticket Office at 910-962-3233.
