Currie becomes the second UNCW player to be honored by Collegesoccer360.com, as former standout Erin Pardini was named a Primetime Player on Nov. 10, 2009 after leading the Seahawks to the program's first Colonial Athletic Association title.

"I am delighted for Kim," said UNCW Head Coach Paul Cairney. "She had a great weekend and scored two fantastic goals. We had several players who were worthy of recognition for their efforts last weekend and Kim was part of this. As a team sport, I am sure Kim shares this honor with her teammates. The players who play in the games and the players who make us better in practice are an important part of any individual honor. This honor is for our whole team."

Currie was recognized after earning MVP honors in the UNCW Courtyard Marriott Wilmington Invitational last weekend, tallying five points on two goals and an assist to lead the Seahawks to the tournament title with shutout victories over Campbell and Troy.

Currie opened the weekend with a goal in the Seahawks 3-0 victory over the Camels and capped the event with a goal and an assist in UNCW's 4-0 blanking of the Trojans.

With her five points during the Courtyard Marriott Wilmington Invitational, Currie moved into a tie for second place on the squad's scoring chart with seven points (3 G, 1 A).  

 UNCW (4-2-1) returns to action Thursday as it travels to regional rival Coastal Carolina for a 6 p.m. contest.
