WILMINGTON, North
Carolina - With the regular season opener just 16 days away, the UNCW
volleyball team will begin preparations for the 2012 season Wednesday with the start
of preseason training.
The Seahawks will open training camp with team meetings
in the morning before getting to work on the freshly-resurfaced floor of Hanover
Hall in the afternoon.
Fourth-year Head Coach Amy Bambenek welcomes back nine

record for league victories in a season. Bambenek also brings in five newcomers
for the upcoming season with four freshman and one sophomore transfer ready to
make their UNCW debut in 2012.
The Seahawks took time to bond away from the court prior to
the start of preseason training, gathering for a team meal before taking
in the sights of historic downtown Wilmington Tuesday.
UNCW opens the 2012 season Aug. 24-25, hosting the UNCW
Courtyard Wilmington Beach Bash at Hanover Hall. The Seahawks will entertain
Delaware State, Long Island and High Point in the two-day event.
