Welcome to this week's installment of the summer baseball
report as we take a look at what the Seahawks are doing in the various summer
leagues throughout the nation.
Jordan Ramsey (Cotuit
Kettleers/Cape Cod League) - Ramsey made his second start of the season on
July 25 and pitched well, but didn't figure in the decision. The righthander
allowed two runs on four hits and a pair of walks in four innngs. Ramsey had
worked four innings four days earlier in relief. On the week he allowed just
those two runs on seven hits while striking out five in eight innings of work.
On the season, he's walked just five and struck out 18 in 27 2/3 innings
Hunter Ridge
(Asheboro Copperheads/Coastal Plain League) - Ridge won the Coastal Plain
League Home Run Derby and was named Defensive Player-of-the-Game in the circuit's
mid-season classic. Ridge belted eight homers in the opening round and cruised to
the title. He's hitting .284 for the summer with four round trippers and 17
runs batted in.
Luke Dunlap (Columbia
Blowfish/Coastal Plain League) - Dunlap continues to push his average up,
now at .250 on the summer. He's scored eight runs and is coming off a two-RBI
game against Fayetteville.
William Prince
(Morehead City Marlins/Coastal Plain League) - Prince tossed two innings in
last week's all-star festivities shortened week. He fanned two more batters to
run his season total to 20 in 17 innings.
Blaze Tart
(Wilmington Sharks/Coastal Plain League) - Tart picked up his second win in
three decisions this summer, allowing one run in a 3-1 win over Wilson. He
allowed five hits and walked four while posting three strikeouts. He lowered
his ERA to 2.43 on the summer.
Justin Livengood
(Wilmington Sharks/Coastal Plain League) - Livengood made just one
appearance for the Seahawks as they head into the stretch run. The righthander
owns a 3.86 ERA in 11 appearances.
Dillon Bass (North
Adams SteepleCats/New England Collegiate League) - Bass is hitting .158 in 38
at bats over the course of 16 games played.
Christian MacDonald
(North Adams SteepleCats/New England Collegiate League) - MacDonald returned
to the bullpen last week and allowed a run in 3 2/3 innings over the course of
two outings. He struck out three in two innings against New Bedford.
Michael Bass
(Bethesda Big Train/Cal Ripken League) - Bass continues his late season
tear through the league, raising his average to .292, his run total to 37 and
stolen bases to 17. He moved up to fourth in the league in stolen bases and is
seventh in runs.
Luis Renvill (Front
Royal Cardinals/Shenandoah Valley League) - Renvill has seen his average
drop to .246 as the Cardinals season ends on July 26. He's tied for third on
the club with 21 runs batted in but has struck out a team-high 38 times.
Corey Dick (Front
Royal Cardinals/Shenandoah Valley League) -Dick suffered a leg injury earlier
in July and his season has come to an end. He was leading the Cards with a .311
average at the plate and a more impressive .455 on base average.
Ryan Mayhew (Front
Royal Cardinals/Shenandoah Valley League) - Mayhew's summer has ended and
he finished with an impressive 31 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings. He posted a
5.17 ERA, with most of the damage coming early in the summer.
Justin Manning (Lake
Norman Copperheads/Southern Collegiate Baseball League) - Manning enters
the league championship tournament with a .307 batting average with 17 runs
scored and 17 driven in.
