FAIRFAX, Virginia
- Five Seahawks earned All-Colonial Athletic Association honors with top-three
finishes in their respective events on Friday as UNCW stands third in the men's
meet and ninth in the women's at the CAA Championships at George Mason Stadium.
James Madison leads the women's meet while host George Mason
leads the men's going into Saturday's finals.
Senior Jordan Daywalt finished second in the women's Pole
Vault with a height of 3.82 meters.
On the men's side, it was an impressive showing in the field
events that gave UNCW a lift on Friday. Sophomore Aerial Chatman placed second
in the Long Jump with a mark of 7.47 meters. Adding top-three finishes on the
afternoon and earning All-CAA honors were sophomores Thomas DiCiaccio (second) and
Kyle Barbour (third) in the Hammer Throw.
Freshman Brad Hollowell in the Pole Vault used a mark of
4.65 meters for a second-place finish.
Posting top-three finishes and advancing to Saturday's
finals were Meena Reid (100 meters), Becky Boulay (800 meters), David Lindsay
(110 Hurdles), Jeremy Johnson (100 meters) and Anthony Colon (400 Hurdles).
Senior Bob Vanderham also advanced to the finals of the 800
meters with a first-place finish on Friday.
