WILMINGTON, Delaware - Junior Thomas Bass rebounded in the second round with a one-over-par 72 to help UNCW move into the lead after 36 holes at the Colonial Athletic Association golf championships at the Wilmington Country Club on Saturday.

The Seahawks erased a one-stroke deficit to Georgia State, who dropped into a tie for second with Old Dominion, who shot a 290 to move into contention.

Delaware's Greg Matthias (72-68=140) fashioned a tournament low round 68 to take over the medalist lead by two strokes over first round leader Marc Dobias (70-72=142) of VCU.

Payne McLeod (72-75=147) leads the UNCW lineup and is in sixth place.

Bass (80-72=152) struggled in the opening round, but found his groove and posted a low round for the Seahawks on the day. Sophomore Patrick Sawrey's 73 (76-73=149) elevated him into the top-10, in a tie for ninth.

Sophomore Ryan Nagy (74-76=150) is in 11th overall and is followed by Bass and red-shirt sophomore Stefan Brewer (79-75=154) in 13th and 25th, respectively.

The third and final round will tee off on Sunday at 9 a.m.
