TAMPA, Florida - No. 37 South Florida won four singles matches to down 75th-ranked UNCW, 4-2, in a non-conference women's tennis match late Friday at the USF Varsity Courts.

The Seahawks wrapped up their two-match trip to the Sunshine State with a 1-1 mark after beating Stetson, 6-1, on Thursday. UNCW had its seven-match winning streak snapped and now stands 13-6 on the season.

USF, also 13-6, split two matches against Colonial Athletic Association on the day after losing to VCU, 4-1, earlier on Good Friday.

In the match with the Seahawks, USF grabbed a 1-0 lead at the top of the lineup when No. 41 Ecaterina Vasenina defeated UNCW senior Christina Lee, 6-1, 6-4. Fanny Fracassi then slipped last UNCW's Angie Sekely, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 3 singles to push the score to 2-0.

USF's Loreto Alonso Martinez came from behind to outlast Olga Blank, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2 singles to increase the lead to 3-0 before Alessandra Bonte clinched the match with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, decision over Christina Riley at No. 5 singles.

UNCW, playing its fifth road match of the season, collected its points with wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles. At No. 4, freshman Alyssa Ritchie rallied for a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, decision over Paula Montoya, while senior Casey Dashiell posted a hard-earned 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (4) triumph over Lucie Rey at the No. 6 slot.

The Seahawks close out the regular season at home next Friday, April 13, against visiting UNC Greensboro. It will be the final home appearance for Dashiell and Lee, the team's lone seniors.
