UNCW Wins Eight Events At Catamount

CULLOWHEE, North Carolina - In just its third outing of the spring, UNCW posted its most impressive showing of the outdoor season as the Seahawks capture first place in eight different events on Saturday at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic.
The Seahawk women won three events while the men added top honors in five different events.
Krista Mangum won the 100 Hurdles with a time of 14.04 seconds. On the men's side, David Lindsay and Anthony Colon finished second and third, respectively, in the 110 Hurdles. Colon added a third-place finish in the 400 Hurdles.
UNCW claimed first in both the men and women's Pole Vault with Brad Hollowell vaulting 4.70 meters and Jordan Daywalt going 3.76.
UNCW really made its mark in the jumps as it won both Triple Jump events and added wins in the men's Long Jump. Johnique Fonaville jumped 11.84 to win the women's Triple Jump and Ed Manning completed the sweep with a distance of 14.36. Aerial Chatman added a win in the Long Jump with a mark of 7.08 meters.
The Seahawks host the annual Battle of the Beaches on March 31 at the Greene Track & Field Complex.
