MYRTLE BEACH, South
Carolina - UNCW's 4x800 relay of Ryan O'Connor, Bob Vanderham, Connor Brooks and Wil Zahorodny topped the field with a meet record time of 7:33.19 to
lead the Seahawks on the opening day of the Shamrock Invitational on Friday.
The Seahawks held record for just over a year before blazing
the track for another record.
Jordan Daywalt posted a second-place finish in the Pole
Vault with a height of 11-11 3/4.
In the Steeplechase, Erin Brennan (11:17.29) finished third
in the women's race while Kelly Carmichael placed fourth in the men's race with
a time of 9:34.11.
In the women's 4x800 relay, Sara Bowen, Becky Boulay, Sherry
Ben-Joseph and Emily Mauro combined to finish fourth with a time of 9:19.23.
In the sprint preliminaries, Meena Reid advanced to the
finals with a time of 12 seconds.
The meet concludes on Saturday.
