CHARLESTON, South Carolina - The 67th-ranked UNCW women's tennis team was locked in a 2-all battle with Charleston Southern when rain halted play late Friday at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.

The Seahawks, 6-4 this season, split the first four singles matches with the Buccaneers before rain showers forced play to stop.

Sophomore Angie Sekely whipped CSU's Angelica Sidorenko, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 singles and freshman Alyssa Ritchie cruised past Marija Dzakovic, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4 singles for UNCW's two victories.

In other action, CSU's Olga Makhova defeated UNCW's Christina Lee, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and Yvonne Huber stopped Kelly Cameron, 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 3 position.

The Seahawks kick off a three-match homestand on Thursday, March 15, when Wake Forest visits the UNCW Tennis Complex. Jenny Garrity's club also plays Old Dominion and Cornell in the trio of home matches.
