LYNCHBURG, Virginia - UNCW opened its weekend appearance at the Liberty Open with a clean sweep of the 4x800 Relay before the meet gets into full swing on Saturday.

The women's 4x800 Relay of Sherry Ben-Joseph, Sara Bowen, Becky Boulay and Emily Mauro topped the field with a time of 9:31.45. On the men's side, Connor Brooks, Ryan O'Connor, Wil Zahorodny and Bob Vanderham combined to fashion a winning time of 7:49.46.

In the women's heptathlon, Shelby Hall is in third overall with 3,128 points through four events.

Jordan Daywalt finished third in the women's Pole Vault with a height of 3.45 meters.

The meet concludes on Saturday with a full schedule of events.
