WILMINGTON, North
Carolina - UNCW closes out its dual meet season this weekend, also Senior
Day, when it hosts Wingate on Saturday at the Seahawk Natatorium.
The Seahawks carry records of 8-6 on the women's side and
7-4 on the men's.
Making their final appearances at the Natatorium are Alex
Aguilar, Brandon Hicks and Mike Smiechowski. All three rank among UNCW's all-time
records in several events.
On the women's side, Alden Dyer, Stephanie Forlenza, Hilary
Fritz, Meg Gildea, Kirstin Harris, Libby Mayock, Anna Munger, Kasey Richardson
and Mattie Riley will cap their careers on Saturday with the meet.
UNCW swept visiting College of Charleston earlier this month
behind strong efforts from Anna Munger and Carly Tanner for the women and a
multitude of competitors on the men's. Meg Gildea won both the 1 and 3-meter
boards while the men's 200 Free Relay set a school record.
The Seahawks close out the regular season next weekend a
split squad effort. The women host Campbell on Saturday, while a select group
of swimmers will compete in the Virginia Tech Invitational, which begins on
Friday and concludes on Saturday.
