FAIRFAX, Virginia - Junior Michael Williams won the 100 Freestyle as UNCW finished
second on the women's side at the Patriot Invitational and the men placed third
on Saturday at the McKay Natatorium.
UMBC claimed both meets,
easily outdistancing the second-place finishers with 1089 points. UNCW finished
with 749.5 points in the women's meet while the men recorded 644 points to
finish behind UMBC and second-place George Mason (657 points).
Williams, who swam on
UNCW's winning 200 Free and 400 Medley Relays earlier in the meet, clocked in
at 45.87 seconds for his third win of the meet.
Senior Anna Munger
recorded the Seahawks best finish on the afternoon for the women with a
third-place showing in the 100 Free. Munger posted a time of 51.41.
The Seahawks close out
their fall semester schedule at the prestigious Georgia Fall Invitational on
December 2-4. UNCW will compete against national powers California,
Auburn, Virginia,
Indiana and host Georgia. Maryland
and Florida
will compete in diving only.
