WILMINGTON, North
Carolina - The UNCW
volleyball team closes out the regular season this weekend as it hosts Hofstra
and Northeastern in Colonial Athletic Association action at Hanover Hall.
The Seahawks entertain the Pride Friday at 7 p.m. before
taking on the league co-leading Huskies Sunday at 1 p.m. Live stats and
pay-per-view streaming video will be available for both matches and can be

Sunday's match will serve as senior day, with the
Seahawks honoring student-athletes Kelsey Bendig and Emily Mohrman prior to the
start of the match.
UNCW (12-17; 5-7 CAA) is back in the Port City after a
split of its league matches at VCU and William & Mary last weekend. The
Seahawks fell to the Rams, 3-1, before posting a 3-1 victory over the Tribe
that gave UNCW its first season sweep of W&M in program history.
Sophomore Christi Laite remains the key to the Seahawks
attack as she paces the squad and ranks sixth in the league in kills per set
(3.31). She enters the weekend needing just 37 more kills to move into 10th
place on the program's single-season kills chart.
Senior Kelsey Bendig ranks eighth in the league in
assists per set (7.23). She moved into fourth place on the program's career
assists list (2,094) with her 30 assists
versus William & Mary last weekend.
Sophomore Haley Collins was named CAA Defensive
Player-of-the-Week on Monday after averaging 4.88 digs per set last weekend.
Collins currently leads the Seahawks and ranks sixth in the league in digs per
set (4.20).
Hofstra (13-16; 4-8 CAA) enters the weekend looking to
halt a five-game stretch that has seen the Pride drop four of its last five
matches, including road contests at Delaware and Towson last weekend. Nikki
Kinner ranks seventh in the league in kills per set (3.27) and Erika Charry is
seventh on the circuit in attack percentage (.280) to pace the Hofstra.
Cataolina Charry is third in the league in assists per game (10.59). She is one
of only three players in the CAA to be averaging more than 10.0 assists per set
this season. Defensively, Kylee Maneja is second in the league in digs per set
(.477) while Erika Charry is second in the CAA in blocks per set (1.24).
Northeastern (19-5;
9-3 CAA) begins the weekend tied with Delaware for the league lead after the Blue
Hens swept the Huskies to end NU's nine-match winning streak. Sophomore Janelle
Tucker (3.26) and sophomore Kelly Bacon (3.14) both rank among the league's top
10 in kills per set while junior Nicole Bishop is fifth in attack percentage
(.294) to power a Huskies attack that is second in the league in kills per set
(13.4) and third in attack percentage (.225). On the backline, freshman Natalia
Skiba leads the league in digs per set (5.19).
