WILMINGTON, North
Carolina - Senior defender Indy Smith was named first-team All-Colonial
Athletic Association on Thursday at the league's awards ceremony in
Williamsburg, Va. Fellow senior goalkeeper Brock Duckworth and sophomore
midfielder Etienne Boulanger were named to the third-team.
For Smith, it was his third straight first-team award. In
2010, the Seahawks finished the regular season ranked 14th nationally with a
0.68 goals against average and fashioned eight shutouts to tie for second in
the conference. UNCW allowed just 13
goals on the season, tying for the lead with VCU.
Duckworth, meanwhile, posted another stellar season,
limiting opponents to a 0.72 goals against average that ranked him second in
the CAA and 23rd nationally. He became UNCW's all-time leader with a 1.07 goals
against average and finished second with 24 career shutouts.
Rounding out UNCW's representation on the all-conference
teams was Boulanger, who was an all-rookie selection in 2009. Boulanger led
UNCW with six goals, including three being game-winners.
The Seahawks concluded the season with an 8-6-4 mark overall
following a 2-1 road win at George Mason.
