Globetrotters Appear At Trask On Friday

      WILMINGTON, N.C. - Tickets are now on sale for the second appearance at Trask Coliseum in as many years by the world-famous basketball troupe Harlem Globetrotters.

      The Globetrotters, who drew more than 2 million fans to their 2009 tour, will take the floor this Friday, March 19, at Trask Coliseum as part of their 2010 "Magical Memories" World Tour. The show begins at 7 p.m.

      Playing their 84th season, the Globetrotters feature "Big Easy": Lofton and "Flight Time" Lang, stars of this past season's edition of the CBS reality TV hit, "The Amazing Race." They will be joined by ball handling wizard "Handles" Franklin and the gravity-defying "Hi Rise" Brown.

      The "Magical Memories" tour is scheduled to cover 200 cities in 44 states, the District of Columbia, five Canadian provinces and Puerto Rico through the first week of May. The Wilmington appearance is one of 270 shows planned.

      In their storied history, the Globetrotters have played in 120 countries on six continents, entertaining more than 130 million fans. The Globetrotters are one of only six teams inducted into the James Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
