Brock, Wallace Lead Second Round Charge

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - UNC Wilmington's Josh Brock (78-71=149) and Derek Wallace (77-72=149) rallied from slow starts to finish the second round in a tie for 14th-overall at the General Hackler Championship on Sunday at TPC of Myrtle Beach.

The Seahawks (312-295=607) are in eighth-place after 36 holes and are one-shot behind 28th-ranked Duke for seventh.

Nationally-ranked East Tennessee State (294-293=587) leads the 12-team field, which feature 10 teams that played in the 2009 NCAA Regionals, at five-over-par and holds a four-stroke lead over second place Pepperdine (299-292=591).

ETSU's Seamus Power (69-71=140) holds a one-stroke lead over Wake Forest's Brendan Gielow (71-70=141), who is ranked 13th nationally.

Brock, a junior, carded a six-over-par opening round, but recorded two birdies and a bogey in the second round to jump into the top 20. Wallace, a senior, opened five-over and went even-par in the second round to tie Brock for the team lead.

Junior Michael Taylor (80-74=154) helped the Seahawks erase an opening round 312 by shooting a 74 in the second round as UNCW shaved off 17 shots in the second round. Taylor is tied for 33rd overall.

Rounding out the Seahawk lineup are freshman Stefan Brewer (77-78=155, T40) and junior Ryan Sullivan (83-79=162, T63)
